Our mission

The trusted authority for
fitness measurement and testing.

REALFIT seeks to be the largest and most trusted source of fitness analytics in the world. To accomplish this mission, we have created the complete foundation for fitness analytics, including a new language — FITDAT® — and development tools for the fitness community.

We are independent of any fitness program or sport. We focus on providing the highest quality data and analytics for those who measure fitness.

The problem we are solving

Fitness testing exists everywhere.
A single trusted source for standards is nowhere.

The military tests recruits. Fire departments screen candidates. Sports programs run combines. Gyms assess members. The data exists in abundance. But every organization measures differently. Results stay isolated. A result produced in one context means nothing in the next.

This is not a data problem. The fitness world has data in abundance. What it lacks is a common language. Without a shared vocabulary for tests, protocols, and standards, results stay isolated. A result produced in one context means nothing in the next. FITDAT® is that language — the open standard that makes every fitness test, result, and score comparable across any context, population, or purpose.

Our approach

The foundation we are building.

Solving the fitness data problem requires more than an app or a scoring system. It demands a comprehensive approach — from the language that defines what a test is, to the authority that certifies what a result means, to the community that makes it all real. These are the core capabilities that make up that foundation.

Authority

The trusted standards authority

A governing body independent of any sport, program, or commercial interest. REALFIT establishes the definitions, procedures, and measuring techniques that make fitness data trustworthy and defensible. Rigorous adherence to standards is the foundation of everything else.

Language

A common language for fitness

FITDAT® — the living vocabulary for fitness analytics. Any platform, organization, or institution can share it. Open, governed, and designed to grow. The language has to come first. fitdat.com

Platform

Tools for builders & organizations

A replacement for the Excel spreadsheets and PDFs most organizations use today. Score set builder, API access, website templates, private-label options. Build and distribute your own fitness program on the REALFIT foundation.

Library

An open data source

Fitness tests, protocols, and score sets — searchable by sport, objective, and population. Military standards, professional sports combines, first responder screens, general population benchmarks. Always current. Always open.

Community

The people who make it real

Like-minded individuals who believe in the mission and work to make it even better — athletes, coaches, officials, developers, and organizations. We welcome open debate and continual feedback.

Marketplace

An opportunity to share

Create apps from the open library. Develop your own score sets. Submit your ideas to the community. Market your personal brand.

Who we serve

Many paths to fitness. We measure them all.

REALFIT is built for anyone who takes fitness measurement seriously — from the individual who wants a real number to the institution that needs defensible, comparable data at scale.

Individual athletes
Anyone who wants to know where they actually stand. Not just a bench max or a mile time — a real, comparable, certified measure of overall physical fitness that travels with you, tracks over time, and holds up against an objective standard.
Personal trainers
Give your clients something more meaningful than subjective feedback. Build branded assessments, establish baselines, track progress with certified data, and give the people you train a number that means something outside your gym.
Athletic coaches
Develop athletes toward a specific performance objective tied to their sport. REALFIT provides standardized benchmarks drawn from the same combines and standards used at the highest levels of competition — so your athletes can measure themselves against the same bar the pros are measured against.
Military & first responders
The military, law enforcement, and fire service have always tested fitness — but every branch, department, and agency does it differently. REALFIT provides the infrastructure to make those standards consistent, comparable, and institutionally trustworthy. Your existing test is already a score set. We give it a home.
Gyms
CrossFit affiliates, boutique studios, workout programs, and gym chains. Build your own branded diagnostic on the REALFIT foundation — assessments that produce real, comparable results your community can track over time and stand behind beyond your walls.
Corporate wellness programs
Corporations and organizations that recognize fitness as the single best indicator of overall health. REALFIT provides the objective data infrastructure for structured wellness programs, fitness incentives, and population-level fitness tracking — with numbers that hold up.
Sports authorities
Professional sports combines, elite school programs, governing bodies, and competitive fitness events. REALFIT provides the scoring infrastructure, data analytics, and tools so your event produces results that are comparable across time, location, and cohort.
Developers
Fitness app developers, equipment makers, and wearable platforms. Build on FITDAT and connect device data to certified standards. The open library, developer tools, and API give you everything you need to build a fully specified scoring experience.
Long-term opportunity

The medical and insurance communities stand to benefit significantly from a trusted, objective, universal fitness standard. Insurers, healthcare providers, and financial institutions that recognize fitness as a measurable health variable will find in REALFIT the data infrastructure that has never existed for this purpose — until now.

What we have built

Proof that the platform works.

REALFIT has built a series of applications on top of FITDAT to demonstrate what the ecosystem makes possible. Each one is a different expression of the same language.

Standards
The open language of fitness. A growing library of test specifications, protocol definitions, score sets, and population standards — openly published and continuously updated. Developer guidelines and tools allow the community to contribute and expand the library over time. FITDAT is not a snapshot. It is a living, evolving data source. The foundation everything else is built on.
Our initial proposal for the universal fitness equivalent of a credit score — a single, objective, comparable number for overall physical fitness. 13 tests, 0–1,000 scale, built openly on FITDAT with full methodology exposed. No adjustments for age, gender, or background. The same standard for everyone. Estimate yours free at realfitscore.com — and the full certified experience is coming soon on the App Store.
Demo apps
An example of the creative fitness applications made possible by building on FITDAT. Animated, gamified single-test experiences — bench press, med ball throw, and more — that show what engaging, consumer-facing fitness tools can look like when built on a common language.
How does your 40 yard dash compare? Another demonstration of the kind of focused, shareable, sports-specific experience that becomes possible when test definitions, standards, and scoring methodology are open and standardized. Build your own on the same foundation.
What we believe

Fitness deserves real standards.

We believe the world is better when people are more fit. Not a particular kind of fit — not one body type, one sport, or one program. Genuinely, measurably fit, at every level and in every context.

We believe fitness measurement should be objective and rigorous. Not approximate. Not adjusted for comfort. Not designed to make everyone feel good about where they are. A number that means something — because it was earned against real standards, with consistent methodology, administered the same way for everyone.

We believe in celebrating what humans are capable of at the top end of the range — the strength of the world’s strongest athletes, the endurance of elite distance runners, the agility of elite field performers — and in providing a framework that lets every person measure themselves honestly against those markers, wherever they are on the spectrum.

We believe the shift that matters is from “minimum acceptable performance” to “how high can you raise the bar.” That shift requires data. Real data. Consistent, comparable, institutionally trustworthy data. That is what we are building.

REALFIT is independent of any training philosophy, sport, or commercial interest. We do not tell you how to train. We do not endorse programs. We do not issue attaboys. We measure. We certify. We publish the standards. What you do with it is up to you.

The fitness library is now open.

FITDAT® publishes every test definition, protocol, and scoring methodology openly — so any developer, institution, or organization can build on the same trusted foundation.
